Came to Arizona in 1968, and lived in Phoenix with my husband and raised two sons there, while working as a letter carrier. In 2001 my husband and I moved to New River. In 2009 I took an early out and retired from the Postal Service after nearly 23 years delivering in Phoenix. In 2011 I began caregiving for my mother who had cancer and after her death in 2014 I began caregiving for my husband, who died from Agent Orange related lung cancer in 2015. Since then I have become more involved with my community, noticing the rapid growth, and wildcat developments. I love the dark skies, quiet nights and wildlife that New River has to offer and would love to keep it that way. I am convinced that incorporation is the only answer to keeping New River rural.
